During the weaning period, when puppies transition to solid food, both the mother and her nursing puppies need a specially tailored diet. ROYAL CANIN® Starter Mousse Mother & Babydog is formulated to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant or lactating mothers and weaning puppies up to 2 months old.

This diet features an ultra-soft mousse texture, making it easier for puppies to transition to solid food while being highly nutritious for both puppies and mothers. Enriched with omega-3 fatty acid (DHA), it supports brain development. Additionally, it contains essential vitamins C and E to strengthen natural defenses.

A combination of prebiotics (MOS) and highly digestible proteins helps maintain a healthy balance of intestinal microbiota, promoting good digestion. The smooth consistency of this mousse aids hydration and is particularly suitable for weaning smaller or weaker puppies. If a puppy appears weak, consulting a vet is essential.

As puppies grow, their nutritional needs evolve. By 2 months, they should transition to an age-appropriate ROYAL CANIN® puppy diet, customized for their breed size (X-Small, Mini, Medium, Maxi, or Giant). These diets are available in dry kibble or wet chunks in gravy.
